The Journey Through Time

1930

Built by Vision — Built in 1930 by Talib and Hamad, sons of merchant Mohammed bin Said Al-Zakwani, as a family home rooted in the life of Muttrah.

Mid-Century

A Living Archive — The house becomes a gathering place where merchants exchange news and dignitaries are welcomed into its rooms.

Recent

Careful Restoration — In partnership with the MINISTRY OF HERITAGE AND TOURISM , the house is brought back to life while preserving its original character by JIBAL AL HAJAR COMPANY.

Today

A New Chapter — The house welcomes guests as a boutique heritage destination, continuing its tradition of warmth and connection.
• Four intimate guest rooms inspired by the Sea of Oman
• Mesa, our all-day restaurant celebrating Omani and Portuguese flavours.
• Mezrad, a concept gift shop featuring original creations made with Omani artists and artisans.
• A creative space for gatherings, cultural events, and private moments.

“The house became a place of gathering; where stories were shared, news traveled, and the rhythms of the city passed through its rooms.”
